It arrived flat: is that normal?
Yes, and it's fixable in twenty minutes. These beds ship vacuum-compressed to keep shipping affordable, so the padding comes out squashed and the hood can look collapsed. Tumble it on low or air-fluff for 15–20 minutes and it springs back to full shape. A good shake and a day out in the room works too, just more slowly.

Which size does my cat need?
Measure your cat curled up, nose to tail, and add a couple of inches. That number matters far more than their weight.
The size on the label is the outside measurement. It's a hooded den, so the padded walls take up room on every side: the space your cat actually curls into is noticeably smaller than the name suggests.
15″: most adult cats, kittens, and very small dogs. The cosier, more den-like fit.
19″: large or long cats (Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Bengal), two cats who pile in together, or small dogs like a Chihuahua, Yorkie or Dachshund.
Between the two? Go up. A den only works if they can settle fully inside it: a cat perched half-out of the opening isn't getting the enclosed feeling that makes it work.
My cat ignores every bed I buy. Will this be different?
Honestly: maybe. Cats are cats. But hooded dens tend to land better than open beds with the nervous ones, because the appeal isn't comfort, it's cover. If yours already hides under the couch, behind the sofa, or in a cardboard box, she's telling you she wants walls.
Two things that help: put it where she already chooses to hide rather than where you'd like her to sleep, and drop in something that smells of you or of her. Most cats need a few days of ignoring it before they claim it.
Is it washable?
